SNAP- PAC S
The SNAP-PAC-S programmable automation controller provides powerful, real-time control and communications to meet your industrial control, monitoring, and data acquisition needs. The controller is compact and industrially hardened. It includes two independent Ethernet network interfaces with separate IP addresses, which can be used to segment the control network from the company network or for redundant Ethernet links. You can also set up a system with redundant controllers using two identical S-series controllers.
The SNAP-PAC-S controller is well suited for use with Ethernet based (PAC-EB1/EB2) units, serial-based I/O units and serial devices. The SNAP-PAC-S controller has two (S1) or four (S2) serial ports that can be individually configured as either RS-232 or RS-485. Configured as RS-232, serial ports support serial device communication or a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) modem connection. Configured as RS-485, serial ports can be connected to SNAP PAC Serial brains or to legacy Opto 22 mistic™ I/O units.
SNAP- PAC R
The SNAP-PAC-R1 programmable automation controller provides control, communication, and I/O processing in a compact, rack-mounted package. The SNAP PAC System, the SNAP-PAC-R1 is fully integrated with PAC Project software, SNAP PAC brains, and SNAP I/O modules. Used with the included PAC Project software suite, the Ethernet-based SNAP-PAC-R can handle almost all your industrial control, remote monitoring, and data acquisition needs. Two independent, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network interfaces are included on each SNAP-PAC-R1. In addition to control, the SNAP-PAC-R1 also provides plenty of communication options. It can communicate simultaneously using several different protocols over integrated Ethernet interfaces and can use up to eight serial communication I/O modules, which makes unique solution on the market. PAC R1 rack can hold up to 16 digital, analog, serial, and special-purpose I/O modules.
Intelligent SNAP- PAC EB brain
The SNAP-PAC-EB1 brain is an I/O and communications processor for OPTO 22 control system. Designed primarily to work in distributed systems controlled by a SNAP PAC S or PAC R controller, the SNAP-PAC-EB1 can also be used as intelligent remote I/O. The SNAP-PAC-EB1 provides local intelligence that frees the controller for supervisory tasks. As an I/O processor, the SNAP PAC brain independently handles functions such as latching, counting, thermocouple linearization, watchdog timers, and PID loop control. These functions continue to work on the brain even if communication with the controller is lost. The SNAP-PAC-EB1 brain supports all the SNAP I/O analog, digital, and serial input and output modules. The brain and modules mount on a SNAP PAC rack, which can hold up to 16 modules. The SNAP PAC brain is equipped with two standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network interfaces, over which it communicates to other PAC R /PAC S processors on the network
SNAP Input /Output modules
For discrete control, process control, almost any industrial control, remote monitoring, or data acquisition task, Opto 22 has the proper SNAP I/O module. Digital modules are optically isolated up to 4000V and are available as 4 to 32 channels. Analogue modules can hold from 2 to 8 channels and can have galvanic isolated channels from each other. There are also wide range of serial communication or special purpose analogue input modules available. I/O modules for analog control and digital control are 200% factory tested and areguaranteed for life.
PAC Project™ software
The PAC Project Software Suite from Opto 22 provides all the software needed for industrial automation, remote monitoring, and data acquisition applications in any field. One of four components of the SNAP PAC System, PAC Project software is fully integrated with SNAP PAC controllers, brains, and I/O s. PAC Control is an intuitive, flowchart-based tool for programming PAC S and PAC R controllers. PAC Control uses a comprehensive, plain-English command set, which includes commands for analog process and digital sequential control, complex math, conditional branching, string handling, serial device control, PID loop control, data arrays, and other complex functions. Flowcharts, which are more intuitive alternative to ladder logic programming, can also be combined with an optional advanced scripting language similar to C or Pascal.
