In 2007, parallel to the implementation of the SAP enterprise-wide information system at all the seven Droga Kolinska production plants Metronik implemented MePIS, the Manufacturing production information system. By completely complying with the guidelines of the ISA SP95 standard MePIS is linked to SAP, the ERP system as well as the warehouse information system for warehouse management. MePIS ensures the operation of the production process via work orders and automatic archiving of all material transactions, process and HVAC control. The MePIS IT solution controls and automatically performs the labelling of semi-finished products. Apart from traceability and quality monitoring Droga Kolinska also implemented a MePIS OEE, module for measuring downtimes and calculation of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) as well as the KPI Manager for displaying key indicators for effective production management. Across the productions sites of Droga Kolinska more than 50 MePIS clients are installed.

In 2001, Metronik implemented MePIS - Metronik’s Manufacturing Execution System in all production sites of Ljubljanske mlekarne in Ljubljana, Maribor and Kočevje. Ljubljanske mlekarne is the biggest diary plant in Slovenia, processing more than 800.000 litres of milk per day and producing both consume and sterilized milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream etc. MePIS is tightly integrated with process equipment and with SAP ERP information system.

MePIS provides Ljubljanske mlekarne with work order management, material traceability and genealogy as well as process quality and genealogy in production and laboratories. The interface between process data and MePIS system is achieved by use of large process historian Proficy Historian from GE Intelligent Platforms. This way key data from production process are automatically transferred to the MePIS system. MePIS system automatically generates standard reports according to the HACCP recommendations and assures total production traceability from the milk takeover to the final products on the shelf. The MePIS system is connected to SAP ERP system according to the guidelines of the IS SP95 standard.
